Many cleaning products on the market today contain high concentrations of chemicals and emit toxic fumes. A majority of laundry detergents are also full of synthetic ingredients, many of which may be harmful. The ingredients in these products often harm the environment as they are not biodegradable and they can also cause headaches, irritate lungs and contribute to other health problems.
Similarly, many household products contain high concentrations of synthetic components, many of which are also harmful to the environment and may pose a health risk. Most water pitchers and plastic containers contain BPA. Vinyl shower curtains omit not only a strong odor, but also volatile organic compounds, including toluene, ethylbenzene, phthalates and can also contain lead and mercury. Most commercially available carpets also omit volatile organic compounds and, if treated with stain-resistant materials or adhesives, also contain formaldehyde and other chemicals.
Today there are many natural and eco-friendly alternatives in household products and household cleaning.
