Alterna Shampoo and Conditioner

Saturday, February 4th, 2012

Made with Bamboo and without parabens, phthalates, synthetic colors, mineral oil, petrolatum, or PABA, the shampoo and conditioner deliver quite well on their promise of creating strong and full-bodied hair.

Nutrition Now Calcium Soft Chews

Great idea, really, extra calcium enrobed in chocolate, with vitamin D added in, but the aftertaste is simply awful and the chew creates a rather dry mouth.

My Favorite Ten Products of 2011

Monday, December 26th, 2011

I thought about this for a long time, but finally the list is complete!

With so many great green and eco-friendly products for moms, kids, dads, and anyone who cares about their well-being and the environment, it was certainly a challenge but definitely a worthy one. I am sure I overlooked some wonderful products and I’ll have to blog about them soon.

Ole Henriksen Truth to Go Wipes

Saturday, November 19th, 2011

Yet another failure for my skin. I started using these the day I first used my new Mia from Sonicare. My face was burning up and flame red within two minutes of cleansing with the wipes and then cleaning with Mia. First I thought it was Mia. I used them together again the next two days. Then I only used the wipes the following night and there it was again – my face so hot and read that I submerged it in ice cold water for 10 seconds.
No problems with Mia.
The ingredients in the wipes are fine – NO parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, or GMOs, or even triclosan.
What IS still in it? Fragrance…..

Method Foaming Handwash – Sea Minerals

Sunday, October 23rd, 2011

Good, non-toxic ingredients and great price if you get the refill pouch. The scent is also very light and non-irritating. However, the soap is so runny and liquidy that each squirt makes a big mess in the sink (or beyond). My least favorite in the otherwise great line of Method liquid soaps.
